High biological potential. Lounais-Suomessa luonnonvaraisena kasvava kasvilaji, jota on käytetty hyödyn aikana esimerkiksi saippuan valmistukseen ja desinfiointiin. Kasvikanta edustaa suomalaista luonnonvaraista kalmojuuripopulaatioita,tutkitusti paras kalmojuuripopulaatio.
